Crystal Ball Emoji Embroideries (Necklace and Wall Decor)

One of my favorite emoji’s is the crystal ball. Naturally I decided to do an embroidery of it!

IMG_7097

It is done in a 6″ wooden embroidery hoop painted white. It is on black cotton using two different purples, gold, and silver embroidery floss.

IMG_7098

I liked this one so much I also made a necklace out of it!

IMG_7099

It is done in a 1.5″ wooden embroidery hoop.

Both of these are available in the shop for sale.

Witch Hat Embroidery

I have another Halloween embroidery to share today! This one is a witch hat with the phrase “witch life.”

IMG_7063

This little embroidery is done in a 4″ hoop, and is done on white medium weight linen (my favorite fabric to embroider on).

IMG_7062

I used black, purple, and a deep pink embroidery floss.

Check out more info on the piece & photos in the shop where it is for sale.

Halloween Icons Embroidery

egoodness

IMG_7114

I think it might be kind of obvious at this point, but Halloween is my favorite holiday, and fall is my favorite time of year. This year I made a few Halloween embroideries, and this icon one is my favorite:

IMG_7079

I think it makes a pretty good Halloween decoration, or if you are me, a decoration for year round.

IMG_7081

What’s your favorite part of Halloween? Mine is dressing up, and the decorations.

This embroidery is listed in the shop for sale, and you can see more info on in there!

All Seeing Eye Embroidered Necklace

Hi! I’ve been awful at updating (it’s been 9 months, awful is an understatement). I’m still embroidering, though! Instagram (follow me @toocrewel) makes it easy to not update, because I can post what I’m working on as it is happening. I remember when blogging was the main wait for me to show my work, and I miss it! So, here I am. Today I’m sharing with you a little embroidered necklace I recently made!

IMG_7075

This little guy is probably one of my favorite necklaces I’ve made to date. The embroidery hoop itself is made by Dandelyne (Sonia has created such a community with her little hoops, seriously check her out!).

IMG_7077

I did the embroidery on a medium weight white linen, and used mustard yellow, black, a silvery purple, and gold embroidery floss.

I have this necklaces listed in my shop, and since I updated last my necklaces are actually cheaper! They are now available for $15 +shipping.

Orange, Yellow, and Gold Embroidered Necklace

egoodness
Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset
This mini embroidery hoop necklace is very similar to the purple and gold one I shared last week.

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset
For this one I used burnt orange, mustard yellow, a sorbet style orange, and gold.

Processed with VSCOcam with g3 preset
I think it has a 70’s feel, it kind of reminds me of shag carpet. You can see more of this piece in the shop!

Commissioned Pillow Embroidery

egoodnessProcessed with VSCOcam with c1 preset
About a month or so ago I finished this commission. The customer ordered this for his boyfriend, it was a letter that his grandfather had written in Arabic. It was such a sentimental and sweet gift.

IMG_1467
The back side of the pillow is also tan, however it is a darker color than the front. This pillow was a little difficult to work on, because when I transferred over the grandfathers handwriting it did not transfer very dark, so it was a pretty hard to see unless it was the brightest time of the day. It was worth it, though!

IMG_1465

If you’re interested in your own commission piece, pillows start out at $50.00!

Parks and Recreation Inspired Embroidery

egoodness
I am so sad that Parks and Recreation is coming to an end, it is always so funny, and I love so many of the characters/actors. In this last season the company Gryzzl has a saying that goes
“Wouldn’t it be tight if everyone was chill to each other?”

IMG_1498After we watched the episode where you first see this Bryan suggested I do an embroidery of it, naturally I did it immediately.

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset
I wanted it to resemble an old style crewel, or something you’d see hanging in your grandma’s house. I liked the idea of the contrasting style to the saying.

This piece hangs in a 10″ hoop, and is up for sale in the shop!

Be chill!

Moon Inspired Embroidered Necklace in Mini Hoop

egoodness
Processed with VSCOcam with t1 preset
For this necklace I wanted something that reminded me of the moon, but was a little bit abstract.

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset
I used three different variations of grey for the embroidery.

You can see more of this moon inspired piece in the shop.

Purple and Gold Mini Hoop Embroidered Necklace

egoodness

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset
Recently I ordered a new set of mini hoops from Dandelyne, this time I got some horizontal ovals, and they were really fun to work with.

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset
For this one I used four different shades of purplse and maroons, and also a little be of gold embroidery floss.

To make this I just outlined the shape of the hoop with a water soluble pen, and then I just started randomly filling it in.
IMG_1722IMG_1723
I am very much in love with these colors, and I want everything in them now. This necklace is up for sale in the shop.

Stay tuned for more this week!

Tina Belcher (Bob’s Burgers) Quote Embroidery

egoodnessProcessed with VSCOcam with t1 preset
Recently I made a Tina Belcher (from the cartoon Bob’s Burgers) quote embroidery that states “I”m a smart, strong, sensual woman.”

IMG_1280
On the fabric I splattered it with gold paint to give it a little something extra.

IMG_1282
For the hoop I painted it black. The floss that I used is a pearl cotton, and one of my favorites- a red ombre. I find myself wanted to use it for everything.
