First and foremost, just a reminder for everyone before I share today’s piece…today is the last day to enter the Shel Silverstein Embroidery Giveaway! Make sure you get your entry in by midnight- remember all you have to do is leave a comment (and be sure to check back Friday to see if you won!).
Okay, back on subject! Today’s piece is inspired by my serious love for exploring new places and the outdoors.
It’s a pretty simple piece, but I think sometimes simpler is better. It’s really easy to over think a piece.
The fabric used is a pretty heavy one, almost like a denim. The purple and blue triangles, which were inspired by mountains, were done on the sewing machine. Explore is done using a back stitch using green yarn. The embroidery hoop for this one is my favorite kind to use- a wood grain flexi-hoop. I only can find them at garage sales, thrift shops, or online from overseas. Such a bummer, but the rarity of me finding them makes it a little bit more exciting when I actually get to use one.
If you’d like to see more, you can check out the piece in the shop!
