Skeleton and Hand Embroidery Redo

Back in January I did a few embroideries on fabric that I hand dyed with tea. After a couple of months the dye faded leaving the background just a plain white again. It looked pretty boring after seeing the splatter affect that the tea left, so I started brainstorming ideas on how to do something that was permanent.

Here is what the two pieces looked like when dyed with tea:

I liked the way the tea looked a lot, but I’m even happier with the results I had the second time around.

This time around I used acrylic paint so dye the fabric. It ended up being a lot more vibrant than before! Even better yet- it won’t fade away. I did a test swab the same way and even put it through the washer and it stayed put.
