Embroidered Goodness: Shel Silverstein Week

One of my favorite authors is Shel Silverstein, he was my favorite growing up, and he’s still pretty high up there for me. I actually have a tattoo of his the illustration from “Jimmy the Jet and the TV Set.” This week all of my embroideries are going to be Shel Silverstein themed, so throughout the week you’ll see sneak peaks, and at the end I’ll have a seven piece collage.

The first piece is from the poem “Memorizin’ Mo” (from A Light in the Attic):

If you aren’t familiar with Shel Silverstein (which you totally should be!), all of his drawings are really simple, and just black line outlines. They are imperfect, and that is what makes them so great. Stay tuned for more!

  1. What a cool series of embroideries you’re doing! Love Shel Silverstein!

  2. I love this embroidery. Can you imagine reading a book that big?
