Photographed by Abbey Moore

Happy Monday, everyone!

Back in 2011 I featured my friend Abbey Moore and her awesome photography skills. A couple of weeks ago Bryan and I were lucky enough to do a mini session with her. I’ve always drooled over Abbey’s work ever since she started, and I was so excited for the shoot! I’m super awkward about getting my photo taken, as is Bryan, but she seriously made it so comfortable and easy.

So, I obviously had to share a few of my favorite photos from the day (and by a few I mean like 30 because I couldn’t narrow it down anymore).

liesibryan_small-35085 liesibryan_small-35090 This photo pretty much sums us up perfectly.

liesibryan_small-35098 liesibryan_small-35170 liesibryan_small-35188 This one might be my favorite.

liesibryan_small-35553 I’m pretty sure this was us attempting to do butterfly kisses.

liesibryan_small-35680 liesibryan_small-35425I can hardly even stand how handsome Bryan is.

You can check out these and the rest of the photos over on Abbey’s blog.
Be sure to check out the rest of her photos, and like her on Facebook too!

xoxo.

Friday Favorites: Holiday Edition

Happy Friday, everyone! Lately there has been so many awesome holiday ideas going around on Pinterest. Needless to say I’ve been obsessed with all of the things I could make and do this year.

These are the cutest gift tags ever…and you can download them for free!

I love the splash of gold for this time of year.

To leave for Santa instead of cookies…yes please.

I’d probably keep this up all year.

What a great idea! I’d like to figure out the best way to make these!

Are these not the best snowflakes ever, or what? My roommate Lauren made some of these for our house!

How are you guys decorating for the holiday’s this year?

xoxo.

Embroidered People: Leslie Knope (Parks and Recreation)

How much do you guys love Parks and Recreation? I only started watching it a couple of months ago, I was way behind, I know. I’m all caught up now, though! So bring on the embroideries. The first one I’ve done is Leslie Knope.
I tried something new with this one, I’ve never done a shadowed out piece like this. What do you guys think?

Next is Ron Swanson!

Etsy Adoration: Friday Favorites

It’s been a bit since I’ve done an etsy adoration post, and today seems like the perfect day to bring it back. My favorites on Etsy is pages long, there are so many good pieces I’ve been finding lately!

This embroidery zine is super cute, and such a great idea! The inside pages are filled with photos of embroidered faces. It makes me want to embroider the cover of a notebook…I have to add that to my list of things to do.

I love these Beatles inspired “All You Need is Love” pencils!

This backpack (and every other one in the shop) needs to become mine. Handmade and made to order! I need to learn to sew better, this is awesome.

I love this so much! I’m growing my hair out a bit, and I can’t wait for it to be long enough to wear pretty things like this!

Love all of these, especially the owl!

Needle felt sushi?! My favorite food and one of my favorite mediums put together! It’s been forever since I’ve needle felted, and this reminds me that I need to start again.

What are your favorite finds for the week?

ps. Don’t forget to enter this months giveaway!

Weekend Adventures: Nordhouse Dunes

A couple of weekends ago Bryan, myself, and our roomie Lauren went on a camping trip to Nordhouse Dunes in Manistee, Michigan. It was so beautiful, and such a great place to go to find inspiration for new pieces.
This tree was so pretty.
I’m pretty sure that this mushroom is going to turn into some sort of needle felting project.
This was a lake at one point…now it just looks like a hot spot.

Bryan bought two disposable cameras before we left, he taped them together so we could take two photos at a time of everything. These were some of the results (try not to have a seizure, please):

Where do you go to find inspiration?

Embroidered Goodness: Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein

Happy Sunday! Sunday’s are the best, aren’t they?

Today is the last day of Shel Silverstein week, and I’m going out with the big one…Where the Sidewalk Ends.

I ended up hanging all of them together in a little nook in our sitting room.
So what do you think, should this entire nook be filled with them, or keep it as is?

xoxo.

Embroidered Goodness: Shapes by Shel Silverstein

It’s the weekend! This means that todays piece is a little bit simpler. The illustration (or in my case embroidery) comes from the poem Shapes from A Light in the Attic.

Tomorrow I’ll be sharing the seventh and final piece, I’m really excited about the last one too! Any guesses?

Embroidered Goodness: The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein

Today’s Shel Silverstein piece is from what is probably his most recognizable book- The Giving Tree. I think this book is one of the best I’ve ever read, adult and children’s books alike.

Happy Friday!

Embroidered Goodness: My Guitar by Shel Silverstein

Shel Silverstein week is coming to a close, I only have a couple more pieces to share. Today I am sharing a piece from A Light in the Attic, from the poem “My Guitar.”

…as someone who would like to know how to play the guitar, but whines every time my fingers start to hurt…this sounds perfect.

Embroidered Goodness: The Worst by Shel Silverstein

Shel Silverstein week continues! Today’s post is from the poem “The Worst” which is in Where the Sidewalk Ends. I never paid much attention to the poem going along with this illustration growing up, but I always thought that the illustration itself was pretty funny.
The actual illustration has little hairs on his shoulders and his ears, but I did not get that far so he is hairless.
